Celebrated deejaying duo, Dj Roja and Slick Stuart  shunned the Uganda Entertainment Awards that were held at Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday.

The two, who had earlier been announced as the official award gala hosts alongside media personality Malaika Nnyanzi, pulled out on the last minute leaving the burden of the show to Malaika alone.

The duo is said to have decided to distance themselves from the awards to avoid tainting their brand with the mess surrounding this year’s awards.

Slick Stuart said, “we withdrew from the Uganda Entertainment Awards in the interest of protecting our brand since the organizers of the event didn’t deliver as they promised.“

The award organisers over-promised but under-delivered as the award gala was marred with disorganization.

The duo had been selected to match with the theme of this year’s edition “Dance to the Beat”.
