Uganda-Cranes 1

By James Robert Kayindi

The Uganda Cranes are set for action tomorrow(19th Nov.) as they take on Guinea in their final bend of the 2015 AFCON qualifiers where they will be seeking to vivify Uganda’s glory by qualifying for the African Cup of Nations (AFOCN) for the first time since 1978.

With Equatorial Guinea already identified as the host nation for the January 17th to 8th Feb tourney, it’s no doubt that the tournament shall take place as planned. It’s now 36years since Uganda last participated in Africa’s major tourney and they will be fighting to revive that pride when they take on Guinea tomorrow.

The team captain Andrew Mwesigwa along with all his teammates have vowed to live no stone unturned to ensure qualification for the Pearl of Africa in the fourth coming Africa Cup of Nations.

“We are ready to die a little for our country tomorrow to ensure that we qualify. We know the Guinea team will be more on pressure because we beat them 2-0 in Kampala,” Mwesigwa told the FUFA website.

The team is taking residence at the Hotel Casablanca Le Lido Thalasso & Spa in Morocco and are to put their muscles to work when they take on Guinea tomorrow as they conclude the 2015 AFOCN qualification campaign.

We wish them the best of luck.
