Armed police, according to a Tanzanian news source, raided Diamond Platnumz Mivumoni Madale house a few nights ago halting an ongoing birthday party.
Platnumz mother, Sanura Kassim was celebrating her birthday and a huge banquet had been organised in her honour.
According to sources close to the Tanzanian superstar, Platnumz had developed a knack for organising loud unruly parties at his house, disturbing the peaceful, quiet neighborhood.
His neighbors had lodged a complaint to the area police, citing loud music, indecent behaviour in public, abuse of drugs and closure of roads in the area whenever the singer threw a party.
“I abhor the noise that emanates from Diamond Platnumz’s house whenever he holds a party. Can’t we sleep – simply because Diamond is hosting his friends? There are function halls, hotel facilities… He can take those parties there. My house is nearly two kilometers away from his, but the music bothers me so bad! What of those neighbours who live a stone’s throw away from him? I am sure they are going through hell!” an source who sought anonymity told Risasi Mchanganyiko.
Neighbors allege that attendees of these parties, mainly young people seize the opportunity to abuse drugs.
A neighbor recorded that at one time, an unruly gang used the get-together to smoke bhang, block roads, urinate by the roadside and engage in debauchery.
Diamond who has been summoned more than three times to the police station in the light of the allegations ignored the summons.
This prompted the police from the area to raid his house, halting the loud birthday party. It is has not been revealed how many arrests were made at the raid.
