Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz landed himself into hot soup when he released a raunchy music video for his song,”Mwanza” which he worked on with Wasafi records signed artist, Rayvanny . The video which was considered immoral was then banned by the Tanzania government under the Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa organization(an agency that regulates music), arguing that it is a bad example for the youth who look up to the Bongo star.
The government agency banned them from performing in and out of their country until further notice, which did not sit well with Diamond and sparked off a bitter monologue by the artist on social media asking them to let him become a citizen of another country.
He has however calmed down and apologized to the Tanzanian government in a new statement saying:
In great humility, we ask for forgiveness from the great Tanzanian republic and BASATA for performing the song Mwanza at the Wasafi Festival in Mwanza. We work hard to be good examples to our fans and to the society, but as humans, we are prone to making mistakes. We accept that we have done something wrong and we are sorry for that. Through our works of art, we will endeavor to be good ambassadors for our culture to the world.
