”Whaaat? Are you kidding?”, thats how I reacted when this news landed at my desk.
As you read this, bling bling master Diamond Oscar could be scaling the heights of Kenyan high altitude training camps as he embarks on his new career. The ”Nkyali bubi” singer revealed his plans saying all he wants out of life is to be a global supers star.
”When I released ”Superstar”, all I wanted was to become a global superstar with my name etched in the hall of fame. Music has made me a star. Athletics will make me a superstar!”, he stated.
The artiste now turned athlete said he drew his inspiration from the triumph of Stephen Kiprotich at Olympics and the just concluded World Athletetics championship in Moscow where he bagged gold. He revealed to us his undying love for athletics saying he used to run for porridge and lunch when he was in O’level and always scooped the first position at the queue earning him the priviledge of enjoying the thick oil coat on the soup to the envy of his mates before music got the better of him. He hopes to replicate the same victory on the track and maybe win gold medals.
”Am tired of dog chains round my neck. I want real gold. I donated the bling I had to Police dog section and Kayihura pledge to support me with a pair of trainers”.
When asked about music, he said,” In music, I had more ambition than talent. In athletics, it is the reverse”.
Hahaha… Are you kidding? Yes I am! Thanks for reading!
