dfcu Bank, Ayitah Charitah Foundation partner to feed over 200 families in Ramadan drive

By Our Reporter

dfcu Bank, in partnership with the Ayitah Charity Foundation, has extended a helping hand to over 200 underprivileged families in Kasokoso and Katanga Slums in a Ramadan drive.

With a UGX 30 million contribution from the Bank, the initiative aimed to provide essential nourishment and relief, embodying the values of generosity and empathy that define the holy month.

Over the next weeks, more families across the country will receive the packs that include sugar, rice, posho, beans, cooking oil and laundry soap.

dfcu Bank staff played a hands-on role in the distribution, directly engaging with communities and reinforcing the bank’s purpose of Transforming Lives and Businesses. This initiative underscores dfcu’s commitment not just to financial empowerment but to the social well-being of the people it serves.

“Ramadan is a time of reflection, unity, and giving,” said Maureen Nagasha, Communications & Events Manager at dfcu Bank. “True corporate leadership is about impact beyond financial services. This initiative reflects our deep commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities and making a tangible difference where it matters most.”

Sophia Nyanzi, CEO of the Ayitah Charity Foundation, expressed heartfelt appreciation for dfcu Bank’s unwavering support, highlighting that over 1,500 lives have been positively impacted by the foundation’s efforts over the years.

Beyond this initiative, dfcu Bank remains steadfast in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, addressing critical needs in health, education, and disaster relief—affirming its role as a key driver of sustainable development in Uganda.
