Media personality and singer Detacha Sakalaman has spoken out in support of National Unity Platform (NUP) foot soldiers, following a recent disagreement involving Bobi Wine’s elder brother, Eddy Yawe.

The tension began when Eddy Yawe reportedly clashed with NUP foot soldiers over the issue of accessing Bobi Wine freely.
Yawe allegedly insisted on his right to meet his younger brother at any time, a statement that sparked mixed reactions from party supporters.

In response to the incident, Detacha Sakalaman stated, “Bobi Wine is now a NUP asset. Eddy Yawe will meet him at family burials.”
His comments suggest that Bobi Wine, who is both a political figure and leader of NUP, is now considered a public figure with limited personal access, even to family members.
The remarks have added fuel to the ongoing debate about the balance between Bobi Wine’s political duties and his private life.
Supporters of NUP continue to defend the need to protect their leader’s time and security, while some family members and critics argue that personal relationships should not be affected by politics.
The NUP has not released an official statement on the matter.
