On October 21st 2014, Ekitone singer Desire Luzinda was arrested by court bailiffs for failing to pay 21 million shillings which she had borrowed from a city businessman for her All White affair concert. The singer whose nude pictures leaked shortly after was only helped by friend who helped her raise 10 million shillings. She promised to pay the rest later.
News on our desk indicates that Desire is in fresh trouble with a city businessman called Jimmy demanding for about 50 million shillings. The business man said that Desire had agreed to pay him in installments in a text message sent weeks back but she never obliged. He resorted to looking for her at shows but the singer is always heavily guarded by bouncers who don’t allow anyone luscious to touch her.
He decided to go to her mother’s home and look for her but couldn’t find her there too.
In response to all this, Desire said that she will pay Jimmy to the last penny. She also noted that’s he has handled many dollars and is not worried about 50 million shillings. “Please I will not engage into verbal exchange because it’s not proper. Money problems affected everyone and I have held many dollars, I cannot steal your 50 million,” she said.
The singer also assured Jimmy that it is not true that her money comes from drugs in the summer which explains the delay. “I make my money off my shows and I will pay soon, it’s not true that it comes from drugs,” she added.
