Musician Desire Luzinda is one with a big heart!
The “Ekitone” singer has made a generous contribution towards the surgery of a paralyzed MUBS student, Raymond Bamwesigye, who is looking to raise USD13,400(about UGX46 million) for specialized treatment in India.
This comes after fellow students initiated a fundraising campaign dubbed “Save Our Raymond” to raise funds for his treatment. Desire has shown support to the cause by pledging Ugx 1 million.
Desire, who is set for Independence Day celebrations in Copenhagen, Denmark this Saturday, said, “This Saturday 8th Oct at Panamera let’s save Raymond. I will not be in the country but please contact Mr. Lwasa of Lwasa Events to give you 1m as my contribution. We play our part and leave the rest to God.”
As part of the campaign, the MUBS Guild has also organised a charity car wash slated for this Saturday, October 8, 2016 to raise funds towards the cause. There will be other activities like goat roasting and shoe polishing to also raise more money. Ugandan Comedian, Patrick Salvado Idringi will be the chief shoeshiner of the day. Each car will be washed at Ugx 50,000.
Meanwhile, Raymond’s father, Mr Paddy Nabimanya, recently revealed that the campaign has so far managed to raise Ugx 27million.
