Thousands thronged Club Silk Street on Saturday evening for the much billed Street Jam to witness Jamaican sensational singer, Demarco perform. The gates were open quite early and the audience was warmed up to a plethora of local artistes to curtain raise for the main act of the night. The list of local artistes that performed at the night was quite long covering most of the big names in the industry like Maro, Airpotaxi, Karungi Sheebah, Micheal Ross, Pallaso, AK 47, Aziz Azion, King Saha, Leila Kayondo, Peter Miles, Jackie Chandiru, Rabadaba, Mun G, Don MC, Vampino, Coco Finger and Jose Chameleone.
Afew minutes to 1AM, Jose Chameleone did wind up his performance to pave way for the man of the night—Demarco, whom the crowd was impatiently waiting for. And when the emcees announced him, the lights went out, and the crowd silent for a moment before it broke out in loud screams and chants again as Demarco made a grand entrance onto the stage. He went on to sing most of his songs as the crowd chanted along. However, the highlight of his performance was when he called on ladies from the audience onto the stage to battle it out for the ‘best shaker’. Interestingly, one of the ladies picked randomly from the audience was “Ice Cream” singer Sheebah. She sure can not only sing but dance quite well too managing to woo the crowd with her body winding moves. She, however, met a better match in her other opponents who outclassed her with their vigorously booty shaking.
Demarco finally concluded his performance doing “Blessings”, a collabo with Peter Miles, whom he called onto the stage for the performance.
