The January transfer window of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) and the FUFA Big League has kicked off on a very high note as compared to the past seasons. Former Uganda Cranes international and ex-SC villa star, Dan Wagaluka, has crossed from relegation side Soana to join the UPL debutants and Kajjansi based side Lweza F.C on a six month loan deal.
After leaving Kenyan based side AFC Leopard at the start of 2014 which he had joined in mid-2013, Wagaluka joined Soana at Kavumba where he has failed to break through to the regular starting lineup. The 28-year-old only managed to net twice for Soana in the first round of the season thereby failing to match to the expectations of his employers who have chosen to let him join another UPL side Lweza.
According the club’s website, Wagaluka will be unveiled to the fans this week on Sunday 11th January 2015 in a club-fans’ meeting.
“I had a very good chat with Kifampa and that’s why I am coming here. We have to do better than last round. I think the club has very good ambition and I hope we can maybe catch the upper reaches of the table, because that would be very good for the club”, reads a statement on the website as regards to why he chose to join the club.
Dan was born in Iganga on the 25th December 1986 and has played for numerous big clubs around East Africa.
Former clubs played for;
2004-2007 SC Villa
2007-2009 URA
2009-2013 Azam United
2013-2014 AFC Leopards
2014- Soana F.C
