Renowned Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka has shared his views on songwriting, stating that while Daddy Andre is a good songwriter, he does not consider his lyrics to be exceptional.

“Daddy Andre writes well, but in my books and feelings, his lyrics are not exceptional. He is average,” Baraka expressed during his interview on ‘The Deep Talk With Mr. Henrie’ TV programme.

Despite his opinion on Daddy Andre, Joshua Baraka acknowledged several songwriters whom he considers the best.

He listed the late Mowzey Radio, Maurice Kirya, Dokta Brain, and Maddox Ssematimba as some of the most outstanding songwriters in the industry.

Mowzey Radio, who passed away in 2018, was widely regarded as one of Uganda’s greatest songwriters, known for his deep and emotional lyrics.

Maurice Kirya has also earned recognition for his unique style and meaningful songwriting.
