Producer and artist Daddy Andre has yet again publicly criticized Eddy Kenzo, arguing that he played a pivotal role in convincing Gen. Salim Saleh to reengage with the music industry.
Daddy Andre revealed that Gen. Saleh had grown frustrated with the lack of unity among Ugandan musicians and was on the verge of disengaging from the industry.
However, Andre claims he reassured Saleh about newfound solidarity among creatives, a factor that reportedly influenced the establishment of the UNMF and Kenzo’s subsequent election as its president.
Despite his involvement, Andre expressed dissatisfaction with Kenzo’s leadership, branding him an “ill-informed amateur” who lacks a deep understanding of the music industry.
According to Andre, Kenzo is more focused on enjoying the prestige of the presidency than making meaningful contributions to the federation or the industry at large.
“I don’t consider him my president,” Andre remarked, urging Kenzo to recognize this reality and even consider stepping down. He criticized Kenzo for what he perceives as excessive self-promotion and suggested that the singer’s public statements often lead to embarrassment.
Andre also called for Kenzo to exhibit more self-respect, particularly given his marriage to a prominent figure. He accused the Bolingo artist of pretending to be knowledgeable while falling short in substance.
“I have done more for this industry than he can ever dream of,” Andre stated confidently.
Additionally, Andre criticized the UNMF, describing it as a dubious federation led by Kenzo, and encouraged musicians to prioritize financial success over participating in what he views as an ineffective organization.
