Ugandans looking to switch onto life’s possibilities and experience what life has to offer beyond the everyday routine, can now do so thanks to the arrival of STING Energy Drink. The latest addition to the PepsiCo International beverage portfolio in Uganda, STING is proudly produced and bottled in Kampala by Crown Beverages Limited (CBL), at its plant in Nakawa Industrial Area.

Mr. Brandon Ssemanda, the Head of Marketing, CBL – while unveiling STING Energy Drink in Kampala today, noted that the launch of STING is a continuation of Crown Beverages’ innovation journey in Uganda. “Innovation is part of our DNA and will always come at the forefront of our operations because it enables us to fulfil our mission of delighting our customers with a variety of fun, refreshing beverages,” he explained.

Boldly, refreshing STING was created with great experiences in mind. It is for the consumer that works hard but plays harder, takes life head on and tries to accomplish as much as possible, day-in, day-out and believes that life is meant to be enjoyed. When you are in need of a delicious boost, a pick me up or a physical or mental recharge, STING provides you with the energy to do more in everyday life.

Timothy Luzinda, the Brand Manager, STING Energy Drink, added that STING provides energy to those looking to shake things up, and go that extra mile. “It will charge you up and ensure that you remain switched on for all of life’s amazing experiences.”

With the addition of STING, PepsiCo and CBL have diversified their beverages business in Uganda by entering into the energy drinks segment. Ssemanda added “Our ambition in this venture is to make STING the number one energy drinks brand in the country.” “I’m confident that we have the right infrastructure, capital and human resources, as well as distribution channels, to achieve this ambition in the foreseeable future.”

CBL has invested approximately Ugx 2 billion to ensure that this product is on every shelf in Uganda. “I have no doubt that the energy drink we are introducing today will provide real value for money and accessibility to our customers in Uganda.”

STING is available in two flavors; Berry Rush (berry) and Gold Rush (mixed fruit), packaged in 330ml plastic bottles, in supermarkets, restaurants and bars across the country at a recommended retail price of sh2,000/-.
