Animated GIFs are now supported on Twitter, and creating and uploading your own couldn’t be more straightforward.
Users can attached these looped, animated clips to their tweets via the gallery button under the text box, in same way they would a photograph.
Poaching GIFs from Tumblr and YouTube is all well and good, but those who prefer to create original content can do so with the help of Freshout’s Recordit app.
Twitter gave the firm access to its API to ensure that its GIF-making software is fully optimised for the social network, and the desktop app will offer to share your work automatically as a result.
Recordit is refreshingly intuitive to use. Simply hit the record button in the top right of the screen and draw a window around the content you wish to capture using your mouse cursor.
GIF-sharing functionality is now supported on Twitter’s web-based service, as well as its mobile apps for iOS and Android devices.
