Uganda Cranes striker Hamis Kiiza is in Beirut, Lebanon for trials with Premier league side, Al Ahed SC.

Kiiza, who was part of the Cranes’ 2012 Cecafa Tusker Senior Challenge Cup winning team and was top scorer for Tanzanian league champions Young African last season, is expected to start trials on Thursday.

The player who recently renewed his contract with the Tanzanian giants after protracted negotiations, will miss their opening Vodacom Premier League game against Ashanti United on August 24th.

Baraka Kizuguto, the spokesperson for Young Africans, told MTNFootball.com that since the Lebanon team requested for Kiiza, they will not stand in the payers’ way.

“We pray that he passes that trail and the club can match our demand,” added Kizuguto.

If Kiiza passes his trials he will join other Uganda professionals plying their trade in neighboring Vietnam such as: Moses Oloya, Geoffrey Kizito and Chrizestom Ntambi among others.

Al Ahed SC has won the Lebanese Championship three times (3), four time winners of the Lebanon FA Cup, two times winners of the Lebanon Federation Cup, three Lebanon Super winners, three times the Lebanese Elite

Cup and has participated in the Asian Football Champions league six times with a quarterfinal berth in 2005, their best performance.

Meanwhile, Proline FC’s Aziz Kemba has joined IBV Vestmannaeyjar in Iceland. Kemba who has been on loan at Bidco FC joins Uganda’s midfielder Tony Mawejje at the club.

William Bakkabulindi, the Proline FC official told MTNFootball.com that Kemba, who left on Monday, will start an initial loan deal, which will turn permanent after completion of the league.
