Uganda Cranes team is expected to return today after their Group E clash against West African giants of Ghana. Guinea is also expected to jet into the country today, according to reports.
Having held the “Black Stars” to one all draw on Saturday at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi, the cranes will return in what has been considered as a no rest period for Micho’s boys. The Cranes drew against four time champions of the Africa Cup of Nations which left them lying second on the group E table followed by Ghana with Togo at the bottom. Uganda’s goal was scored by holding midfielder Tonny Mawejje at the bend of the first half (in the 45th minute) while Adrew Ayew brought the hosts to level in the 55th minute after a penalty kick.
The Uganda Cranes will only relax on the return day and then resume training ahead of their Wednesday clash against Group E table leaders of Guinea who beat Togo on Friday by 2-1 in Morocco.
The Cranes will be joining the rest of the lads that didn’t fly with them to Kumasi but have been under residence at Sky Hotel in Naalya. The crew has been training at the KCCA stadium in lugogo under the leadership of coach “Frank Video Anyau”. The local camp had a great boost last week when lead striker Geoffrey Masa joined them together with KCC wing Brain Majwega who has been on the side-lines due to an injury.
Uganda Cranes face off with Guinea on Wednesday at the Mandela National stadium (Namboole) at 7:30pm.
