Apparently there is no time to waste for Cranes head coach Milutin Micho Sedrojevic as he has already summoned the CHAN squad to report for training today after beating Sudan on Saturday in the first leg of the Africa Nations Championship third round qualifier.
At a very slippery Nakivubo Stadium on Saturday following a heavy downpour the previous night, two first half goals from Frank Kalanda ’15 and match day skipper Farouk Miya ’35 were enough for Uganda Cranes to defeat the Falcons of Sudan by 2-0 in a very competitive game that saw KCCA’s Hassan Wasswa Dazo sent off for unsporting characters.
Uganda ended the game with ten men with custodian James Alitho saving Eltaib Mudather’s penalty to deny Sudan an away goal advantage.
Today, the players will be involved in gym work at Paradise Fitness City Gym at Acacia Mall as their first piece of training before going in for drills tomorrow.
Later on today, the team will travel to FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru for their residential camp in a bid to get more familiar with the artificial turf.
The Cranes are preparing for the return leg that will be played at Khartoum Stadium in Sudan on Sunday, 25th October, 2015 at 8pm EAST.
With Uganda holding a 2-0 goal advantage, the aggregate winner after both legs will play at the 2016 CHAN Finals in Rwanda.
