Micho Sredojevic, the Cranes coach, has named a 30-man strong squad that boasts of youth and experience to resume preparations for next month’s World Cup qualifying decider against Senegal.
There are no major surprises with ever present names in there, apart – of course – from a one Mike Azira – who plies his trade in the US with Charleston.
Four goalkeepers make up the team, with eight defenders, 13 midfielders and five strikers.
Of the pool of 30 summoned players 22 will play in the Gaborone friendly, of which 15 best performers will proceed to Istanbul.
Eight other foreign-based players will join the 15 in Istanbul to make a squad of 23, who will travel to Morocco next Thursday for the Senegal assignment.
Meanwhile, government has stashed over Shs400m for the campaign. On top of player allowances, government will take care of accommodation and players’ tickets to Gaborone, Istanbul, Marrakesh and back home. Money has been approved but is yet to be availed to Fufa.
