Uganda Cranes captain, Farouk Miya has finally returned to training ahead of Uganda’s clash with Zimbabwe in their final game of group D at the ongoing Africa Nations Championship (CAHN) in Rwanda.

The industrious youngster missed the Cranes clash with Zambia having sustained a shoulder injury during their two-all draw with Mali on match day one for Group D at Umuganda stadium in Rubavu, Rwanda.

Uganda lost 1-0 to the Chipolopolo stars, a result that hang their chances of progressing to the knockout stages in great balance. However with the return of the team skipper, Cranes head coach Micho feels delighted and thinks that there is still hope.

“When one of your best players’ returns from injury, it is good news to the rest to the team,” Micho is quoted on the federation’s website.

The 19-year old was involved in yesterday’s full training as Uganda prepare for Wednesday’s do or die fixture hoping that it won’t be their last at this year’s tournament.

In other injury news, goalkeeper James Alitho remains ruled out but with the availability of Ismail Watenga and Mathias Kigonya, Micho will indeed have nothing to worry about in the goalkeeping department.

Uganda failed to reach the knockout stages at their first two attempts in Sudan 2011 and in South Africa 2014.
