The commercial court is set to look into the speeches of former Kampala mayor al-haj Nasser Ntege Sebaggala whose comic voice recordings were used by MTN Uganda for its callertune service.
Justice Madrama who is expected to look into the issue of whether the voice recordings can be protected by the Copy and Neighboring Rights Act of 2006 set the hearing for 28th April 2014.
Ssebagala who recently won custody of his child from fashion guru Silvia Awori accuses MTN of copyright infringement.The matter was taken to court after other forms of arbitration failed.
