Court has dismissed a petition requesting to open up late Ivan Ssemwanga’s grave.

The petition had been lodged against A-plus funeral management and Bank of Uganda by a one Abbey Mugugu who was seeking permission from court to open up Ssemwanga’s grave to retrieve the legal tender that had been buried along with him.

The judge ruled that  A-plus Funeral management and Bank of Uganda had no duty to enforce respect of the Ugandan currency or other foreign currency. He further reasoned that Mgugu had no cause of action against A-Plus Funeral Services since it is not the company that  threw money into Ssemwanga’s  grave.

It should be remembered that Ssemwanga’s former Rich Gang colleagues threw money in his grave as they bid him farewell in his final send off  at his ancestral home in Kayunga in May this year.
