Connected Underwear That Will Turn You On Introduced

ohmibodLadies, your lacy underwear is about to get a whole lot smarter. Connected sex toy company OhMiBod announced at the 2014 International CES show in Las Vegas on Monday panties that can be controlled by a partner.

In line with the wearable technology trend, the blueMotion massager ($129) aims to give women pleasure with the help of its accompanying iOS or Android app. Vibrations can be controlled for solo play or by another user nearby.

“It’s a really fun way to control vibrations without anyone knowing what you’re doing because the remote is on your phone,” Brian Dunham, who founded OhMiBod along with his wife Suki, toldMashable. “Technology can drive couples apart, but this is using technology and gadgets to bring them closer together.”

Dunham said he and Suki came up with the concept when they noticed they were spending too much time on their smartphones and less time being intimate. The couple has a full line of high-tech OhMiBod sex toys, including vibrators that align to the beat and rhythm of your favorite music, so the move into the wearable tech space was a natural progression.

The vibrator has a Bluetooth chip inside it, which slides into the front of the blue panty. The motor reacts to the remote app controls and takes advantage of built-in smartphone features, including accelerometer, touch screen and volume controls. The app has to be within Bluetooth range for it to sync with the panties in real time.

“We’re working to bring long distance to the app now and should have that up and running by the summer,” he said.

BlueMotion can also record ambient sound up to 60 seconds. This means a partner could record songs or say phrases such as “I love you” to create a unique vibrating pattern.

“The recording function gives you a lot of room for creativity,” Dunham said. “It makes the whole experience completely customizable too.”

The product, which hits the market in March, is one size fits all.
