The music world is in shock following the untimely passing of Ashna Lweri, a promising young Congolese artist who died on February 27, 2025, at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala.

Ashna, born on March 15, 2020, succumbed to injuries sustained in a fire that broke out in their home due to an electrical fault.
According to reports, the fire severely injured Ashna’s mother, who bravely attempted to rescue her daughter. She is currently receiving medical treatment for her injuries.
Ashna Lweri was a rising star in the music industry, having already begun making waves with her talent. Her collaboration with Fik Fameica on the song “Nahasso” last year showcased her potential and was well received by music lovers across Africa, Europe, and beyond.
Her management, in a heartfelt statement, expressed their sorrow over the loss:
“Unfortunately, Ashna Lweri did not survive the fire. Her mother, who attempted to save her, was severely burned and is currently receiving medical treatment. Her death leaves a huge void in the world of music, where she had already begun to make her mark. Her demise is a loss to all music lovers, whether they are in Africa, Europe, America, or elsewhere in the world.”
