Uganda Cranes talisman Emmanuel Okwi is vibrant ahead of Group J’s deciding World Cup qualifier against Senegal.
The two face off in Marrakech, Morocco’s fourth biggest city this Saturday with Uganda needing victory to progress to the play-offs while Senegal will do with just a draw.
And Okwi, coach Micho Sredojevic’s main weapon in attack, admits that while it will be a difficult task, himself and teammates are in greater spirits and are determined to upset the odds.
Okwi and the rest of Cranes enjoyed a four-day training camp in Istanbul before connecting to Marrakech and the Etoile du Sahel striker says his confidence levels have been boosted by recent events, including his brace in the 3-1 friendly win over Botswana on their way to Turkey.
“The two goals mean a lot to me because they boost my confidence ahead of a very different opponent.
“Of course I feel much better after the training sessions (in Istanbul) and that game against Botswana and hopefully it comes through against Senegal,” he added.
