Get rich or die trying! If you can’t get Other Peoples Money(OPM),then fire victims cash is not necessarily a far fetched idea! That seems to be the motivation behind the latest drama at Mulago hospital.
For starters, Mulago has witnessed more drama than National theatre and the Ebonies combined! In a suspected public stunt, Amarula family’s Amooti yesterday arrived at Mulago claiming for a share of the 260m compensation alleging that his two brothers perished in the tragic fuel truck fire that claimed over 33 lives.
“I have come for 10m shillings because my 2 brothers perished in the fire. That is 5m each!” he pleaded with the hospital staff showing off photos from what he called “their family album” attracting wild laughter as he struggled to register a sombre mood on his face. When asked for a blood sample for DNA test,he tasked the administrator to compare his nose with those in the photo and hand over the money! The policeman present at the scene warned that for negative test, the long arm of the law would catch up with masqueraders. At this point, the comedian excused himself and was seen later running towards the exit!
