It was a colourful Sunday as a bevy of excited Indians celebrated Holi holiday. Hundreds of Indians gathered at Arya Samaj Grounds, Kisementi to celebrate their big day–the Festival of Colours! The day started out quite slow but it was not long before the crowd got into a frenzy, burying everyone present in paint.
Adults unmasked the child in them as they, without a care in the world, playfully painted each other in various colours; from red to orange to blue etc. The excitement was evident as the kids, as well as the adults joyfully got themselves wet in a rain simulation created by a water fountain.
Holi is a Hindu religious festival also known as the Festival of Colours or Festival of Love. It is celebrated over a 3 day period and includes bonfires, painting of friends and family with coloured water and sharing of food and drinks. Below are some photos from the event:
