The fourth season of Coke Studio Africa premieres across Africa this weekend. Themed Discover, season 4 will include artistes from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Togo, Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast. The show gives artistes from all genres, eras and stature the opportunity to work with some of the best local and international music and production talent.
Radio & Weasel, Chameleone, Rema Namakula and Eddy Kenzo are the Ugandan artistes enlisted on season 4. Others artistes on the show include: Ghana’s Stonebwoy, Efya, Feli Nuna and EL; Mozambique’s Neyma, Dama Do Bling and Lizha James; Kenya’s Sauti Sol, Jaguar, The Kansoul, Dela and Bahati; Nigeria’s Patoranking, Cynthia Morgan, Waje, Kiss Daniel and 2 Face Idibia (2baba); Tanzanian heavy weights Vanessa Mdee, Joh Makini, Yamoto Band and Navy Kenzo will be joined by fast rising star Ruby. Togo’s Toofan, Cameroonians X-Maleya, Ethiopian artistes: Henok Mehari, Haile Roots and Betty G, and DRC’s Fally Ipupa and Serge Beynaud are among artistes selected from eleven countries to be part of the show’s glittering array of talent this year. International American artiste Trey Songz also recorded original songs with selected Coke Studio African artistes including Rema from Uganda.
For months, the artistes have been working alongside a highly talented house band while performing songs that will showcase the refix of some of Africa’s hit songs. Artistes will be produced by renowned music producers including Madtraxx (Kenya), Bushingtone (Uganda), Masterkraft (Nigeria), Chopstix (Nigeria), DSK (France/Ivory Coast) and Maphorisa (South Africa).
