Iconic tactician, Sam Timbe has finally reunited with Azam Uganda Premier League side Police FC having resolved not to renew his contract at Kenyan Premier League side Sofapaka fc.
The Kops club chairman Asan Kasingye confirmed the development through his twitter account where he wrote; “Police fc is happy to announce that Coach Sam Timbe has rejoined the club from Sofapaka.”
Timbe rejoins the club in the capacity of head coach which automatically implies that Angelo Lonyesi has been relegated back to a position of assistant coach.
“He starts from where he left. He still had a valid contract with us. He was given leave to go to Sofapaka. We are happy to receive him back. Angelo was a caretaker coach. He is glad to work again with his boss,” he added.
Timbe is a prominent coach across the CECAFA region having guided four different clubs to the triumph of the CECAFA Kagame Cup. He won the annual tournament with SC Villa, Police, Atraco and Young Africans which puts him above any other coach in terms of winning this crown.
He also won league titles with Uganda’s SC Villa, Atraco of Rwanda and Tanzanian giants Young Africans.
His first Uganda Premier League encounter will come on Tuesday, September 15th when 5th placed Police FC entertains Sadolin Paints at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
