Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic has summoned a big squad of about forty players, composed of both international and local based players, for the national team ahead of ties with Zambia and Congo Brazzaville.
He named the team on Wednesday during the weekly press conference at FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala.
The Cranes will first of all play Kampala region in the Cranes Namutima campaign over the weekend as part of the build up to the international friendly against Zambia that is slated for Tuesday, 8th November.
The clash against the Chipolopolo is to prepare the team ahead of their crucial tie against Congo Brazzaville in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers that is due November 12th at Namboole Stadium.
Coach Micho justified his intentions in naming such a broad squad with the need for the team to also prepare for the CECAFA regional tournament that is slated to kick off in less than a month.
The Serbian international also stressed his desire to use the regional competition as a buildup for the team ahead of its crucial return to the continental scene in the African Cup of Nations that is scheduled for January 2017 in Gabon.
