Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic dropped eight players on Monday as he trimmed the team ahead of today’s friendly tie against Zambia at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The eight players asked to leave the camp are all home based players that will be perhaps considered for future engagements.
These include; Vipers’ trio of striker Erisa Sekisambu, midfielder Keziron Kizito and Halid Lwaliwa, KCCA captain Dennis Okot, URA’s duo of Richard Kasagga and Shafik Kagimu, Soana’s Allan Kayiwa, SC Villa Godfrey Lwesibawa.
The development now implies that only fourteen of the initially twenty two locally based summoned players remained in the camp and will be available for selection when the Cranes take on the Chipolopolo Stars in an international friendly today.
These include left back Joseph Ochaya, goalkeepers Ismail Watenga and Benjamin Ochan, Joseph Nsubuga, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda, Ibrahim Sadam Juma, Geoffrey Sserunkuma, Timothy Awanyi, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Vitalis Tabu, Mohammad Jagason Shaban, Derrick Nsibambi and Abdul Malik.
