The Club Music Video Awards have returned. They were announced at a media launch held at Club Play on Thursday evening.
First staged in 2013, they return for their 2nd edition which will take place in March 2017 and will once again highlight the “gold standard” in music, creativity and achievement.
The awards, which are being organized by Urbane Music Video Awards Ltd (UMVA) in association with Club Pilsener, will follow a two-month long campaign which will entail submission of entries, nominations, judging, voting and then culminate into the main event.
Speaking about the awards, John Katete, Club Pilsener brand manager said, “As a vibrant and influential brand, Club Pilsener forms a brilliant backdrop to the awards simply because we encourage individuality and Ugandan artists each have their own ‘cool’ and this is shown in their videos, we are glad to be part of this recognition.”
Peter Katonene, UMVA Director also noted, “The awards promise to be the highest profile music event. Urbane is proud to play a part in bringing this inspirational salute to Ugandan music excellence to music fans not only in Uganda but around Africa. This year we have added some new categories because we need to recognize all possible and relevant platforms with the awards.”
The awards will engage a panel of judges, both local and international, and technical analysts with a wealth of experience and expertise in music and video production in Uganda, Africa and world over who will deliberate on Ugandan talent across 15 award categories. The nominations for the awards will be revealed on 9th February, 2016.
To ensure that the awards ceremony lives up to excellence, Club Pilsener has once again partnered with ROCKSTAR4000, who have created and executive produced over 920 events across 5 continents, including the first edition of the CMVAs.
