The Uganda National Theatre will tomorrow host a completely free event themed “Clothed with Protection” that encourages and teaches expectant mothers the importance of maternity vaccination. Clothed with protection is a new Art Project meant to sensitize communities across Africa on the importance of maternity vaccination.

The event tomorrow will showcase works of 10 young and dynamic Ugandan fashion designers to create a catwalk at the National Theatre. The clothing will then form a touring exhibition in the UK. Just as clothing protects us from the outside world, whether from extreme temperature, rain or abrasion, so vaccinations create a layer of protection from infections.

The project is a collaboration supported by the University of Southampton and funded by the IMPRINT Network .

Commissioning 10 fashion designers in Kampala, Uganda will create an exhibition of clothing that promotes vaccination in pregnant women across Africa. Their aim is to spread the message that vaccination protects both mother and baby. “Vaccination clothes you and your baby with protection”.

This great Music promoting vaccination will be commissioned too.

Clothed with protection will take place tomorrow Friday at the National theatre starting 2PM to 6PM and entrance is absolutely free.
