New SC Villa head coach, Omulangira Sam Simbwa, is set for a tough start when his new side hosts URA at the Mityana Ssaza stadium today. Its been two days now since his appointment as the new Villa head coach following the sucking of Moses Bogere.
Bogere lost his job after Villa lost 2- 1 to Police FC on Tuesday at the Kavumba recreational stadium in Wakiso. The loss relegated the record champions to the 3rd position on the table.
Sibwa will be up to show his experience in Ugandan soccer having managed several clubs around the country in the local league including Mbale heroes, SC Victoria University, Express FC and Sofapaka.
Simbwa will be looking forward to place his trust in striker, Karim Ndugwa who is in spectacular form after scoring three goals in three matches of the new UPL season and vice captain, Fred Nkata all who were named in the Uganda Cranes squad that will face Togo. Ali Kimere is also expected to maintain his spot in goal after his brilliant start at home. Kimere is yet to concede a goal in their home matches at the Mityana Ssaza grounds.
Meanwhile URA are also still struggling after failing to pick maximum points from their first two league openers. URA under the charges of Alex Isabirye who is serving his second spell at the club has only managed to draw their first two games in the new season. The league giants drew 1-1 with Kawempe based Bright Stars and 0-0 with the new side, Sadolin Paints FC on match day two.
Alex Isabirye will be eager to earn his first win in the top flight since his return to the tax collectors (Uganda revenue authority) after the sucking of Paul Nkata who is currently serving at Kiira Young. However Omualangira Sam Simbwa will also be hoping to bring back Villa to its winning ways after their two successive homes wins from their first two league openers before their 2-1 defeat by police earlier this week.
