The turf will be left to tell the story when two giants meet in the Azam Uganda Premier league in a match dubbed ‘the clash of the titans’ at the Phillip Omondi stadium in Lugogo tomorrow.
The highly awaited clash will see two title contenders face off in front of the Azam TV cameras when defending champions Kampala Capital City Authority entertain Vipers.
Currently Vipers are the table toppers with 53 points from 24 games while KCCA are third on the log with 50 points from the same number of games. In between them is SC Villa who stand on 51 points but have played a game less.
Vipers head coach, Edward Golola is optimistic that his side can pick up another decent result after their 2-2 draw with URA earlier in the week on Tuesday.
“A point against URA was good. If we can get another against KCC, the better. We shall try to win the game but we must not lose,” Golola told Supersport.com.
“I’m targeting just over 12 points from the remaining six games (which include two against title challengers KCC and Villa) to become champions. We hope KCC and Villa drop some points as well,” he added.
Vipers will place their trust in on-form Farouk Miya’s and Julius Malingum to carry their scoring boots as they visit a well organised and on-form KCCA.
