Musician Cindy Sanyu has revealed why she left Zungu lover, Mario Brunette whom she met in a casino and went on to have a daughter with him. According to the Ndi Mukodo singer, Mario was in it for sex yet she wanted a man who could marry her and that is the same reason why she left him.
“He isn’t interested in marriage. We had been together for nine years and he was not committing himself so I didn’t see the point anymore. Yes, for years. I wanted it. He made it clear he’s not into marriage so I had two choices, either to keep cohabiting or leave. I left. I had always known he felt that way, I just thought he would change his mind after some time. So for me it was a confirmation of what I was already worried about. It was sad but I am grown. I hurt for a while then I moved on,” she said.
When Cindy met Mario, he was always there for her. He was the most caring, loving, romantic and fun guy that the singer had ever met.
“I have always had love from my family but this was the first time I felt that kind of love from someone not my family,” she said in an interview with a local daily.
The two met when Cindy and her sister had gone for dinner at Kampala Casino in 2005. Her sister’s boyfriend invited a friend and that friend was Mario. The two spoke and there was an instant attraction between them but they were both seeing different people at the time so they remained friends for some time.
According to Cindy, they didn’t date until some time had passed. “We didn’t officially date until many months later. He was so hot he reminded me of Lorenzo Lamas, in ‘Renegade’.”
It was until 9 years passed that they called it quits with Mario accusing Cindy of opening her legs faster than a google page for any man and returning home very late with a strong stench of semen and liquor.
