Ugandan dance-hall diva Cindy Sanyu wants to celebrate 12 years in the music industry with a continental award. She revealed her hunger for a continental award on social media where she posted asking her fans to vote her in the AFRIMA awards and help her win an award to mark 12  years in the music industry in style.

She posted: “It’s been 12yrs now since I got into the music industry, wow. I can’t believe it either…….And I feel like it’s still just the beginning. Africa is recognizing. Vote for me and let’s make history”

Cindy came into spotlight as part of the all-girl group Blu*3 which was formed after the trio that also included Lilian Mbabazi and Jackie Chandiru won the TV show, Coca Cola Popstars in 2004. However, she broke away from the group around 2007 to pursue a solo career and has continued to enjoy a successful career nonetheless, churning out hits year after year.

She is nominated for her song “Dat Dat” in the Best African Reggea, Ragga & Dancehall category. To vote Cindy, click here.
