Chris Evans’ tears pay off, shuts down Freedom City

Christopher Kaweesi commonly known by his stage act Chris Evans can now proudly be added onto the list of Ugandan Entertainers that have held massively successful shows this year.

He now joins Winnie Nwagi, Azawi, B2C etc. as artistes that will always treasure 2022.

This after The ‘bikalubye’ singer pulled off a multitudinous crowd inside the Freedom City events hall last Friday. By 08:30 in the evening, there was less or no room left for revellers who hadn’t made it there yet.

“I am a bit nervous because I don’t know what is going to happen but i think people will come to my concert,” Evans said while he rehearsed his performance a day earlier. His instincts however paid off.

Spice Diana, Serena Bata and scandalous Rema Namakula are some of the big names that co-headlined the event with their performances besides the main act.

Last week while vending his tickets to fans in downtown, Kampala, Evans and his team tasted the wrath of security operatives after they used pepper spray to disperse them which according to Patrick Onyango the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, was only done because the former hadn’t been permitted to hold such gatherings there.

This however didn’t stop the slacky talent from bringing out all his energy on stage. Smartly dressed for a headliner, he performed his songs one at a time from ‘Ndikusasula ki’ to ‘Bikalubye’ to ‘another lover’ before he thanked fans for showing him all the support they did.

Abtex Musinguzi, the event organizer, worked his head all out as the show was clearly an organized one from gate, to stage, lighting and sound. The production was an A-game and not a single complaint of a performer demanding for payment was heard clearly stating that he sorted all this out earlier.

With a few months left to wind up the year, there are still a number of events that are coming uo from different artists, creatives and entertainers.
