From the heart of Toowoomba, Queensland — fondly known as “The Woo” by its community — a new sound is emerging. Meet Cholius Aweng, a rapper, singer, and songwriter who’s quickly becoming one of South-East Queensland’s most promising artists.
Cholius’ music is a seamless fusion of hard-hitting rap and Afro-inspired rhythms, drawing influence from global heavyweights like Travis Scott, Gunna, and Wizkid, yet shaping a sonic identity uniquely his own. Rooted in his African-Australian experience, his sound bridges cultures and continents, making it just as fitting for late-night drives as it is for game-day motivation or personal reflection.
Since his high school debut in 2020, Cholius has released over 10 tracks, including a standout EP, steadily growing a dedicated fanbase across streaming platforms. His artistry reflects more than just music — it’s a movement of ambition and representation. “The Woo” may be small, but for Cholius, it’s a place of untold stories, raw talent, and dreams that deserve the world stage.
Carrying His City on His Shoulders
Cholius doesn’t just represent himself — he carries the pride of his community in every lyric, hook, and melody. Coming from a place where many dreams are often cut short by hardship, he stands as a voice for a generation daring to rise above limits. Backed by his people and fueled by undeniable talent, his vision is clear: to take his story global while giving back something monumental to the city that raised him.
“What They Want” — Hip Hop Video Debut
