Channel O Africa Music Video Awards Nominees To Be Announced Tomorrow.

The Channel O Africa music video awards organising Committee will tomorrow release the long awaited nominee’s list. The list which will be announced on channel O will sieve the so many applicants and leave only four videos in each category.

The nominees are taken from videos being sent, seen and requested on Channel O from the 1st June 2012 until 31st May 2013 and the awards will take place in October.

Viewers across Africa will be able to vote for the winner in the 13 different categories excluding the Special Recognition category via SMS and Channel O website.

The awards will have 14 categories which will see a winner of each category walk away with an accollade. Below are the categories.
Best Male Video

Best Female Video

Best Newcomer

Best Duo or Group

Best Dance Video

Best Ragga Dancehall Video

Best R&B Video

Best Kwaito Video

Best Hip-Hop Video

Best African Southern

Best African West

Best African East

Video of the Year

Special Recognition Award

Channel O Music Video Awards, also known as Spirit of Africa Music Video Awards are Pan-African music awards organised by South Africa -based Channel O television channel. The awards were first held in 2003 under the name Reel Music Video Awards.

Since 2005 the awards have been held annually. The winners are voted by Channel O’s viewers across the continent.
