Mzee Mayanja the father to Uganda’s number one music star, Jose Chameleone has confessed that he had never heard about D’banj after the Nigerian legendary singer beat his son to the MTV MAMA Evolution award.
Mzee began by congratulating his son on the award before dropping the bomb. “Let me first congratulate my son Joseph. He won the moment he was nominated for the MTV award. There are several musicians in the continent of Africa and to see that he was nominated brings me a lot of joy,” he said.
He then said that he has never heard of the singer. “I listen to a lot of trending music but I must confess I had never heard Dbanj. I am surprised he just came out of nowhere to beat my son.
I believe my son Joseph is still the best and he will do more great things in his career.” Well Mzee, Mayanja, there is a D’banj in Nigeria who kicks *ss.
The Nigerian Superstar and veteran singer clinched the Evolution award ahead of other African legends such as 2face, Asa, Black Cofee, Chameloene, Fally Ipupa, HHP. Samini and Psquare.
