Did Chameleone re-unite with Goodlyfe?
We have been blind folded to think the two camps made up when actually they did not. Well, Chameleone may have bridged his relationship with the former Leone Island rebel kids Radio and Weasel but he has never buried the hatchet with Jeff Kiwa. Jeff and Allan Kiwa are the current managers of Goodlyfe after leading and initiating a break up from Leone Island together with Radio and Weasel in 2008. Chameleone can not forget that night at Little flowers when things fell apart with Jeff Kiwanuka commanding and dictating a break away from Leone Island.
Why has Chameleone then come back to work with Goodlyfe?
No one can resist a successful person and neither can Chameleone. Re-uniting was the only option left for Chameleone. In the initial days after Goodlyfe had just broken away from Leone Island, Chameleone their former boss had a phrase; “There is no Goodlyfe without Chameleone.” He further prophesied the duo would not last a year, but look how far they have come! I believe their re-union is purely genuine but only with Radio and Weasel not with Jeff and Allan.
Who benefits more from this re-union?
Well, I would have said it is a mutual benefit if Radio and Weasel had not earlier on initiated a failed re-union with their former boss. Did you know Radio and Weasel had paid Chameleone to attend their Obudde launch but the singer turned them down? Radio and Weasel have nothing else but test of time to prove and this is where Chameleone beats them hands down. I bet Chameleone would not give Radio and Weasel a collabo, the same way, he denied Bobi Wine one. You don’t ride on his fame (that’s his secret).
Why is Jeff not happy with the re-union?
If you did not know, Jeff is the only person not happy about the re-union. As the fans are enjoying a good music atmosphere especially from the big guns in the game, the Goodlyfe manager thinks he has lost his authoritative say among his subjects Radio and Weasel. Jeff is the most decorated manager among all, first with Chameleone and now with Goodlyfe and this also makes him the most experienced and successful manager and he has convinced Goodlyfe about this. If Goodlyfe realize despite having the most successful manager there is still space at the brim (because they will discover this now that they outta the cage) they will lose trust and confidence in him same way they did for their producer Washington.
Is Goodlyfe the same after the re-union?
Surprisingly, Radio the one we would all expect to be a little distant to Chameleone is the closest now. One would ask why?The further he went to hurt his mentor, the more he has to get close to erase a bad memory. (The singers have also a list of songs they have decided not to perform again and Chamila tops the list). Radio also knows how cunning Chameleone can be, he is so careful around him. Of late complaints have started running in already, Jeff complaining why Radio no longer spends much time with the rest of the crew members.
Can Goodlyfe sustain a career without being at loggerheads?
NO. Their entire career even still in Leone Island Radio and Weasel always rode on rivalry. Do you remember Weasel helping Chameleone fight Bobi Wine in his song with the ‘Bwaba Akusinga’ line? Within the same period of re-union, the pair has opened war with Aganaga Kalifa, these guys can do a full album on just one item but I know they won’t give him that privilege this time.
As I finalise my first half of this session am so optimistic that this year will see the Goodlyfe stick to the true intended values of music by producing positive music just like they have always done but this time without causing any damage to any party, so help them God.
