After much hype and fuss about the Athi Fest, revelers were forced to settle for Sauti Sol as the main artistes for the event as Ugandan artiste Chameleone failed to show up at the Wattle Blossom Lodge.
The Ugandan crooner, who had spent Friday night performing at a street bash in Nakuru, failed to turn up even as the organisers made several attempts to get him to the event. As the night grew colder and older, it became apparent that the Tubonge artiste was not turning up, leading to a flurry of events to get the other artistes at the event to cover up, as the programme was already messed up.
“There is some payment that has not been made,” some close source was heard saying the event attracted a bevy of A-list artistes including Jaguar, who turned up in the company of rapper Kristo and two female friends. Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua and his entourage also paid a courtesy call.
