Huh….I can’t really tell if my main man is still shacking at his in-laws or if his legs are perfectly fine. Whoooahh…that’s Dr Jose Chameleone for you and that pretty much sums up his 2013.Wait guys. The singer scooped quite a number of awards this year and he repped Uganda well everywhere he went. Star musician this one.
I have personally refused to share the sentiments with the guys who have been gushing about his talent throwing him awards this year. Incredible artiste admittedly but I am one of those guys who have really been skeptical about him musically.
Scandal aside, I would confidently say that Dr Jose Chamelone has been really mediocre this year. He has of recent hinged on what he likes to call the ‘winning formula’. The formula basically has him releasing a track that is supposed to survive on the airwaves for about a year and keep him relevant. This formula in a way keeps him head and shoulders over his rivals. The songs he puts out normally have longevity and somehow keep him in the news for a while. Dont get me wrong. I don’t expect him to release music on a recurrent basis like the Goodlyfe Crew but fans expect him to release more frequent powerful songs like his talent says he can do. Badilisha has arguably been one of the better songs of the year but it’s hard to think of any other music other than that one and Born Fighter with Mun G.
So while award ceremonies have heard the name Chamelone announced a number of times, I am amongst the few that believe that he kind of held back this year and didn’t mash up like he normally does. Otherwise adios.Tugende Tukole.
