Legendary music manager and singer, Chagga, has come out to reveal that he was the brain behind the name Leone Island, the music empire led by Jose Chameleone.

Speaking to the media ahead of his upcoming concert at Kati Kati, Chagga explained that the name was derived directly from Chameleone’s stage name.
“I didn’t make it up because I got it from a person, the boss of Leone Island. It’s creation, just art,” Chagga said.
He further disclosed that before he coined the name, the group was originally known as Ombre Studio.
The rebrand to Leone Island later became a turning point that solidified the label’s identity in Uganda’s music industry.
