Centenary Bank has hosted more than 300 members of the Muslim fraternity to an iftar dinner as a sign of solidarity during Ramadhan. The Iftar is the evening meal after sunset that concludes the daily fasting during the month of Ramadan.
The event that marked the breaking of the day’s fast was graced by Alhajj Dr. Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu as the guest of honor.
Speaking at the ceremony, Centenary Bank’s Executive Director Simon Kagugube thanked the Muslims for the continued support to the bank and pledged to continue supporting them in their ambitions.
“It gives me great pleasure to welcome and thank you all for accepting our invitation and joining us in our annual Ramadan iftar party. You’ve made us who we are and for this I pledge on behalf of the bank to continue supporting you and wish you well as Ramadhan comes to an end,” Kasi said in his remarks at Hotel Africana.
Dr. Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu urged Centenary Bank to continue to support the Muslim community with such gestures as the iftar dinner for their continuous support to their growth.
“As we come to the end of Ramadhan, I want to encourage you all to stay strong in your faith. It is the month of solidarity and unity, the month of patience and victory, for there will be victory without patience. Centenary Bank from its humble background has turnedout to be among the biggest and most competitive banks in the country and this has made us proud as Ugandans. This is what faith coupled with creativity can do,” Prince Nakibinge said.
The Ramadhan period is expected to come to an end this Thursday, July 7th pending confirmation from the Muslim leaders.
