Ugandan singer and presidential adviser on Kampala, Catherine Kusasira, has publicly expressed her frustration with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), threatening to quit the party over continued disrespect and marginalization by individuals close to the President.

The outspoken Kusasira voiced her grievances following a recent NRM event where she claims she was blocked from accessing Lieutenant General Proscovia Nalweyiso, who was seated in the presidential tent.
The incident appears to have been the last straw for Kusasira, who has long been a vocal supporter of President Yoweri Museveni and the NRM.
Taking to TikTok, Kusasira posted emotional videos decrying the incident. “I have never lost my cool but you people I’m tired of you. Respect us,” she said. “That’s why you’re going to see youths and other people running away to other political parties. I love my party, I love my president. I came to greet Maama Nalweyiso and you stopped me.”
Kusasira further reminded the party of her unwavering loyalty, highlighting the abuse and public backlash she has faced for supporting NRM.
She emphasized that despite working tirelessly for the good of the party, she continues to feel sidelined and disrespected by key figures within the party’s inner circle.
