Catherine Kusasira has ruled out any possibility of holding a concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, citing concerns that the venue does not match her brand or the expectations of her audience.
Kusasira believes a venue like Lugogo Oval does not align with her fan base. In a media interview, she explained that her supporters prefer high-end venues and are willing to pay premium prices for a more comfortable and secure experience.
“Lugogo Cricket Oval attracts a crowd that pays 20,000 or 30,000 UGX for concerts. My fans are different; they can spend 100,000 or even 150,000 UGX for a show at a place like Sheraton, where they feel safer and more comfortable,” Kusasira stated.
She also raised security concerns, noting that her audience prefers venues where they do not have to worry about losing their phones and valuables.
She therefore sees no justification for organizing a concert at a venue that does not align with her audience’s class and expectations.
