Catherine Kusasira has shared insights into her healing journey following a heart surgery that took place abroad.
Kusasira expressed her gratitude for the successful procedure but also opened up about the personal challenges she faced during the recovery process, particularly the loss of several close friendships.
Kusasira’s surgery, which took place abroad, was marred by financial difficulties from the beginning.
She reportedly struggled to cover the high medical costs and had to reach out to various people for help. Desperate for assistance, Kusasira even appealed to the Ugandan government and President Yoweri Museveni, whom she serves as an advisor, to help cover the expenses.
Despite these challenges, Kusasira and her husband managed to cover the medical bills, ensuring that she received the care she needed.
Thank God I am very fine, but I learnt my lessons. I lost so many friendships, but it was necessary because not everyone we hang around with wants us to do better. Me and my husband know what we went through.
As a result of this experience, Kusasira has vowed to change her approach to helping others. She stated that she will be more cautious in extending assistance and will find it hard to trust people as she did before.
