Songstress Carol Nantongo has opened up about the path that led her to the renowned Golden Band music group.
Carol’s story began when popular singer Catherine Kusasira discovered her talent.
According to Carol, Kusasira tested her voice by asking her to sing acapella.
After hearing her sing, Kusasira was highly impressed and praised her, stating that Carol’s talent was exactly what the group had been searching for.
Kusasira then took Carol to meet Papa Mesach Semakula, the head of Golden Band.
Upon hearing her story, Papa Mesach sympathized with Carol’s age, noting that she was still young, but he recognized her incredible talent.
He recommended Carol to fellow singer Dr. Hilderman, who was recording in the studio at the time. After listening to Carol’s music, Dr. Hilderman gave his stamp of approval, affirming that she would go on to be a successful artist.
Carol Nantongo went on to make her mark in the music industry under Golden Band with hit songs such as Kamese Tambula, Nsika, and Ompuuba.
Her rise to stardom within the band has been a testament to her talent and determination.
